Flash and free software

For a long time getting people to use free software specifically, to move to a all free software desktop has been tricky.
Many people have been extremley unwilling to not have Adobe Flash installed on the machine they are using.
This software is of course proprietary software however many people feel that their daily dose of Youtube could not exist without it.

Jellylegs Productions filming in Marple for BBC production "Sunshine"

Today, whilst on my way to college, I noticed a film crew set up on Marple high street.
Being in no rush, I got out and had a look, apparently a BBC Comedy Drama called "Sunshine", due to be aired in the autumn was being filmed.
I found it interesting to see they had one camera on tracks for moving shots while another one on a stationary tripod further up the road.
They seemed to be pretty much exclusivly filming people crossing the road and getting into cars etc.

BBC pisses around with iPlayer DRM

Since the whole BBC DRM fiasco exploded, I was pleased to see Andy Halsall post an email to the bbc-backstage mailing list which raising some very good points.
http://www.mail-archive.com/backstage@lists.bbc.co.uk/msg07774.html
It is unfortunate, that this is so comprehensive that there was little comment on it. I agree with everything on it, such the the point I have nothing to add.
I was therefore quite sad by the lack of response.
